Putzmeister is currently manufacturing the most powerful pump in the KOS valveless two-cylinder piston pump series at the company’s site in Aichtal: the KOS 25.200 HP. The machine is about to be delivered to an international customer in the mining industry.
The KOS series has been specially designed for the conveying of highly viscous sludges (thick materials) with a high solids content. In the future, the KOS 25.200 HP will be used for the underground backfilling of mine residues – a process that offers both ecological and safety-related advantages. By returning the sludge to the disused mining areas, above-ground landfills are eliminated, while at the same time tunnels are stabilized and mine safety is increased.
Powerful all along the line
The KOS 25.200 HP convinces with impressive delivery data:
- Up to 385 m³/h flow rate
- Maximum delivery pressure: 100 bar
- Conveying distance: 3,500–5,000 metres, depth 400 metres
- The well-mixed paste is fed into a jumbo trough with a volume of 15,000 litres.
An integrated radar sensor continuously monitors the fill level and ensures an even supply to the pump.
Despite the many years of experience of the Putzmeister team in the field of heavy machinery, the assembly and logistics of the system pose a special challenge. Internally, the system is therefore not called a “mammoth pump” without reason.
“With the KOS 25.200 HP, we are setting standards in thick material conveying. The pump is an example of how we work with our customers to create sustainable solutions for demanding applications.”
– Tobias Lutz, Director Projects Business, Putzmeister
With the KOS 25.200 HP, Putzmeister once again underlines its innovative strength and leading technical expertise in the field of high-performance conveyor systems for industrial applications in mining.
